RESEARCH PROJECTS.

  • Title: “The Relationship between Hyperhomocysteinemia and Pre-Eclampsia/ Eclampsia & Placental Abruption in Pregnant Women of Pakistan: potential role of folic acid, vitamin B12 and B6”.
    Two Original articles based on the findings of above said LUMHS funded project have been published in an International Journal with Impact Factor IJRM (www.ijrm.ir) and other in JPMA (www.jpma.org.pk) .

  • Research Project Title: Comparison of “Treat All” Strategy with “Select and Treat” Strategy of Primary Prevention of Pre-Eclampsia in Pakistan: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
    It was designed with the International collaboration of the University of Birmingham UK and Aga Khan University Karachi under the aegis of British Council-Higher Education Commission Linkage Program. The project has been approved by Ethical Review Committee and Board of Research & Advanced Studies, LUMHS Jamshoro in April 2009. The pilot study has been started from May 2009 at Out Patient Department Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad without financial assistance. Up-till now 173 women have been recruited.

  • Research Project Title: Appropriateness of VIA (Visual inspection of cervix after application of acetic acid) as an alternative cervical cancer screening technique.
    Submitted to Medical & Research Council, LUMHS Jamshoro and has been approved by Ethical Review Committee/Board of Research & Advanced Studies, LUMHS Jamshoro. Waiting for funding.
